The final round of the 2008 season and it was back to where it all started at Brands Hatch in Kent. Although earlier in the year we were waking up to snow and now its October, 23 degrees and sunny, what a difference.

The shorter Indy Circuit at Brands is one of my favourites and I was really looking forward to the weekend.

Round 10 of the Metzeler Superstock Championship and a short journey only about 60 miles down the road to a surprisingly sunny Silverstone.

The previous weekend to this I was in action with the NG Road Racing Club at Oulton Park. It was a great opportunity for me and the team to get some good track time on a familiar circuit and try to rebuild some of my self belief and confidence. And all went to plan as I won the 600cc open class on my Superstock spec R6 by nine seconds. I was going into the Silverstone weekend believing that I could now concentrate on racing again rather than staying on.

Round 9 of the Metzeler Superstock 600 Championship took us to the Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire. This would turn out to be a complete nightmare weekend for me and the team.

Croft is one of those circuits where track knowledge is vital. It’s a very technical bumpy and fast circuit. Unfortunately for me I had never even seen the place before and I knew this would be a tough weekend for me.

After the very disappointing weekend at Knockhill we were next off to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire. Cadwell is a track that I don’t have very fond memories of. I did the NG Road Racing meeting here earlier in the year but crashed twice and rode all weekend with a very injured hand. It’s a very technical circuit and takes a lot of learning but I enjoy riding anywhere so I was looking forward to it.
